Jurgen Persijn
After graduating from the Film & Video Department of Sint-Lukas in Brussels, Jurgen Persijn (Belgium, 1966) directed three commissioned videotapes in collaboration with Ana Torfs, amongst which Akarova & Baugniet/L’entre-deux-guerres (1991) and Mozart Material (1993). He also wrote and directed several contributions on architecture for BRTN, the public broadcasting company’s weekly cultural magazine Ziggurat. Since 1999, he has been working as a graphic designer, mainly on publications on art and architecture. Persijn occasionally designs scenography for exhibitions.
A video essay about the rehearsal process of the dance performance Mozart / Concert Arias, un moto di gioia, a choreography by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker and Rosas, which premiered at the Festival d’Avignon in July 1992.
