Ellen Vermeulen

Ellen Vermeulen (Belgium, 1982) is a filmmaker. She made the documentaries 9999 (2014), about detention in the Merksplas prison, and Inclusive (2018), about four children with learning disabilities who take part in a regular learning program. Vermeulen is a researcher and lecturer at RITCS (Brussels) and founded the production company Chère Jeanne. Her latest film Forbidden Pilgrimage will be released in 2024.

A carefully made film, offering an intimate insight into the lives of Rosie, Sami, Irakli, and Nathan, four children with different educational needs who are going to regular schools.
